Jim has been Assistant Director for Informatics at the
University of Kansas Biodiversity Research Center for
12 years. He also directs the Specify Software Project
which produces open source software for biological
collections data management. He has broad research and
cyberinfrastructure interests in biodiversity
informatics including applications for field station
sensor networks.
Aimee's background is in Computer Science and
Geography. She has worked in the GIS and
Remote Sensing fields for the last 12 years,
focusing on software development and mapping
applications in the Informatics department of
the Natural History Museum and Biodiversity
Institute since 2001. After her initial
seduction by proprietary software, she came to
her senses and now uses open source tools
whenever possible.

CJ has been a part of the Informatics staff
since Fall 2004 and became a full-time
developer after graduation in Spring 2006.
He was a member of the Specify Software
Project before joining the Lifemapper team.
He has interests in web development and
services as well as grid computing.
